SERVICES

  • Complete prenatal care - I come to your home for hour long visits so there is plenty of time to answer your questions, discuss options and get to know one another.

  • Labor & birth - calm, safe, and unobtrusive monitoring of you and your baby; trust that birth is a thing of nature and unfolds with it's own wisdom and individuality. Another qualified midwife will also attend your birth with me so there are more hands to help once your baby arrives.

  • Water-birth - if it appeals to you, being in a tub of warm water can be a wonderful way to ease the intensity of labor and a gentle place to birth your baby.

  • Breastfeeding - I teach you the principles of breastfeeding towards the end of your pregnancy as well as guide & support you in the first hours after birth to ensure a confident and comfortable experience.

  • Postpartum - I stay for several hours immediately after you give birth to be sure both you and your baby are healthy and know the basics of nursing. I return the following day, and every other day after during that first week to offer support as you make your transition into mothering and nourishing your baby on "the outside".

  • Fee negotiable for low-income - If home birth is very important to you and the expense is a concern, let me know and we can discuss other options.

  • Insurance billing - Most of my clients with PPO insurance are able to receive some reimbursement after the birth once billing is complete.

  • Family-centered - You are welcome to have anyone at your birth who you feel would benefit you; children, partners, friends, animals, massage therapists . . . or you can go off in a dark closet on your own if you need . . . yes I've been to births like that. Whatever you need to give birth.

  • Holistic - I have a useful knowledge of homeopathy, herbs, yoga, relaxation, meditation, imagery, and nutrition which I love to share.

  • Spiritual - Over the years I have learned that we each have some kind of spiritual connection, although it may just be a vague awareness. But, growing a baby, giving birth, and parenting are all such miraculous events, and so rich with spiritual experience, that everyone comes away from a birth humbled and awed in some way. I always do.
